Marblehead High School's girls’ lacrosse team defeated Lynnfield 18-8 in the first round of the MIAA state tournament and will take on Lowell Catholic on Thursday.
The game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Chelmsford High School.
Marblehead, ranked 5th in the North Division 2 tournament, finished the regular season at 12-7. Lowell Catholic, which is the fourth seed, went 15-3.
