3rd Annual Brad Sheridan Memorial Basketball Tournament Next Week

The Marblehead High School Athletic Department will be hosting the 3rd annual Brad Sheridan Memorial Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 18th and Wednesday, Feb. 19. 

The boys bracket will feature Marblehead High School, Manchester-Essex Regional HS, Concord-Carlisle High School and Malden Catholic High School. The girls bracket will be comprised of Marblehead High School, Mystic Valley Charter School, Dracut High School and Winchester High School

Raffles, refreshments and a three point shooting contest for kids will also be featured. All proceeds from this annual event will benefit the Brad Sheridan Scholarship on behalf of Dollars for Scholars. (Formerly known as Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation)

Brad Sheridan coached boys’ basketball at Marblehead High School for 21years and also coached golf for 16 years. During his tenure, Sheridan’s basketball teams recorded over 250 wins and were Northeastern Conference Champions in 1978 and 1985. Qualifying for the MIAA State Basketball Tournament ten times, his 1978 an 1985 teams went on to capture MIAA Division 2 North titles. 

Sheridan was also the recipient of several noteworthy awards, including the Robert Pierce Sportsmanship Coaching Award, Division 2 Coach of the Year by the Boston Globe and the Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association, and the prestigious National High School Coaching Gold Award. In 1998, the North Shore Basketball Coaches Association inducted Coach Sheridan into their Hall of Fame.

Admission Charge:            $5 for Adults            & $3 for Students/Seniors

All proceeds benefit the Brad Sheridan Memorial Scholarship
