Election Winners Sworn In

The winners of Monday's Town Election were sworn into their respective positions at Abbot Hall Wednesday.

The winners of Monday's gathered at Abbot Hall Wednesday night to be sworn into their respective positions and to celebrate their big wins with their friends and families.

The election, which featured a far lower voter turnout that in years past, ended with the Board of Selectmen adding two new members, the re-election of longtime Municipal Light Director Charles Phillips and the addition of Thomas F. Connolly to the town's School Committee.

Before joining their fellow Selectmen for the rest of the meeting, newcomer Bret Murray and former board member Harry Christensen spent a few more minutes as members of the audience, cheering on the residents who were elected to positions on the town's Planning Board, Abbot Public Library Trustees, Recreation & Parks Commission, Water & Sewer Commission and Cemetery Commission.
