Alleged Drunk Driver Arrested Following Atlantic Avenue Crash

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department's log: 


Saturday, April 19

  • At 7:56 a.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Washington Street.
  • At 9:12 a.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Pleasant Street.
  • At 11:20 a.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance on Driftwood Road. A juvenile was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and battery, domestic assault and battery and threatening to commit a crime.
  • At 11:43 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Buchanan Road.
  • At 1:43 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Mugford Street. 
  • At 2:13 p.m., police responded to a report of an erratic operator on Harbor Avenue.
  • At 3:58 p.m., police responded to a report of stolen items on Pond Street.
  • At 6:19 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Thompson Road.
  • At 8:35 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute near the intersection of Lafayette Street and West Shore Drive.
  • At 9:09 p.m., police responded to a report of kids throwing water balloons on Atlantic Avenue.

Sunday, April 20

  • At 5:30 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Tedesco Street.
  • At 6:37 a.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance on Clifton Heights Lane.
  • At 6:28 p.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Washington Street.
  • At 9:38 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Atlantic Avenue. Bernard Surette, 54, of 51 Kernwood Lane, Lynn, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:03 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Gerry Street.

Monday, April 21:

  • At 1:58 a.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Washington Street.
  • At 4:25 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Atlantic Avenue.
