Dead Raccoon Found Hanging From Tree in Marblehead

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department's log: 

Friday, Feb. 14:

  • At 9:45 a.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Lafayette Street.
  • At 10:46 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Tioga Way.
  • at 11:23 a.m., police responded to a report of a downed tree branch near the intersection of Lafayette Street and Carna Road.
  • At 2:24 p.m., a resident entered the police station so they could be served a summons.
  • At 2:25 p.m., a woman called police to report that she found a decaying raccoon carcass hanging from a tree in a swamp near Sparhawk Terrace. The DPW was notified.
  • At 3:08 p.m., police responded to a report of a bus stuck near the intersection of Pleasant and Washington streets.
  • At 9:32 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Longview Drive West.

Saturday, Feb. 15

  • At 7:53 a.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Mound Road.
  • At 8:30 a.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Rockaway Street.
  • At 9:13 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on an elderly Pleasant Street resident who called police to ask "what the date and day of the week" was.
  • At 10:27 a.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Pickwick Road.
  • At 1:18 p.m., police responded to a medical emergency on Pitman Road.
  • At 5:21 p.m., police responded to a parking complaint near the intersection of Norman Street and Hines Court.
  • At 6:47 p.m., police responded to a report of a drunk woman causing a disturbance at the Imperial Mandarin restaurant on Pleasant Street. Deborah L. Churchill, 56, of 47 Chestnut St., Marblehead, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting merchandise by asportation.
  • At 7:42 p.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Nicholson Street.
  • At 9:30 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Guernsey Street.
  • At 11:35 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Commercial Street.

Sunday Feb. 16

  • At 2:23 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Pinecliff Drive.
  • At 4:23 a.m., police responded to a water main break near the intersection of West Shore Drive and Evans Road.
  • At 6:38 a.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Harbor Avenue.
  • At 7:02 a.m., police responded to a reported power outage on Bridge Street.
  • At 8:06 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Jersey Street.
  • At 10:22 a.m., a woman entered the police station to complaint about a possible scammer.
  • At 4:11 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Atlantic Avenue.
  • At 7:28 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Cloutmans Lane.
  • At 7:47 p.m., police responded to a report of a stuck motorist on Waldron Court.

Monday, Feb. 17

  • At 12:37 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint near the intersection of Washington and Orne streets.
  • At 4:21 a.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Humphrey Street.
