Solicitor Says He's Selling Cookies for Culinary School

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department's log:

Thursday, Nov. 29:

• At 10:42 a.m., police responded to Marblehead High School for a report that a student there was "receiving texts from a non-student."
• At 11:22 a.m., a resident entered the police station to report that she got an email about $500,000. The woman was given the FBI web address to report it as an internet scam.
• At 11:25 a.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Leicester Road.
• At 1:06 p.m., police responded to a parking complaint on Pleasant Street.
• At 2:38 p.m., police were assisted by members of the Salem Police Department with an arrest. Victoria Styskina, 47, of 320 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested for having an outstanding warrant.
• At 3:01 p.m., police were alerted to a solicitor on Atlantic Avenue. A business owner said a man went into the store to sell cookies for "The Children's Society." The man later told police he was trying to raise money to go to culinary school and "if people give him money he gives them a cookie."
• At 3:03 p.m., police responded to an accidental 911 call from Humphrey Street.
• At 4:00 p.m., police responded to a report that a man had fallen on Orne Street. A man reportedly suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital.
• At 6:58 p.m., police responded to an accidental 911 call from an elevator on Washington Street.
• At 7:18 p.m., police responded to an accidental 911 call from Village Street.
• At 9:21 p.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance on Chestnut Street.

Friday, Nov. 30:

• At 1:55 a.m., a Farrell Court resident called police because they needed assistance with their heat.
• At 7:32 a.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Atlantic Avenue.
