Local Woman Arrested for OUI, Assaulting Police

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department's log:

Friday, Feb. 17:

• At 8:55 a.m., a Maryland woman called police to report that police there were investigating an immigration and welfare fraud case involving a marriage that was held at Abbot Hall. Police there reportedly determined that the groom was already married.
• At 9:35 a.m., a Sewall Street resident called police to report that a black van was blocking the sidewalk. The vehicle was moved a short time later.
• At 11:07 a.m., a motorist near the intersection of Tedesco and West streets called police to report a woman driving erratically in a black Chevy Trailblazer. The woman said the other driver was "weaving in and out of traffic and was driving crazy erratically." The driver was later stopped in Salem.
• At 11:24 a.m., Jonathan H. Hare, 28, of 645 Town Farm Road, Hartford, ME, was arrested on warrants out of Salem and Marblehead.
• At 1:31 p.m., a resident called police to report that her daughter, whom she recently gave up for guardianship, stole $2,000 from her.
• At 1:44 p.m., the Department of Public Works was notified that there was glass in the road near the intersection of Tedesco Street and Brookhouse Drive.
• At 3:09 p.m., a local man called police to report that his autistic daughter was punched in the eye by an older girl at the playground of a local school. Police took a full report and noted that the school was aware of the incident and will handle it internally.
• At 4:17 p.m., a Broughton Road woman called police to report that her debit card had been "used unlawfully."

Saturday, Feb. 18:

• At 12:59 a.m., a Bassett Street woman called police to report a dog barking loudly outside of a neighbor's house for about 45 minutes. Police were able to contact the owner of the house and the dog was reportedly brought inside.
• At 11:13 a.m., a Humphrey Street man called police to report that a man had just tried to get into his house and had left the area on foot down Thompson Road. The man told police an unknown man approached his door and told him "his girl had gotten into an accident and he was looking for assistance."
• At 11:32 a.m., a local man called police to report that the equipment building at Gatchell Playground was damaged overnight. He told police he couldn't get into the building because of the damage.
• At 1:31 p.m., John S. Hall, 36, of 5 Sunset Road, Salem, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle after revocation, possessing a class A substance and having a defective windshield following a traffic stop near the intersection of Lafayette and Birch streets.
• At 3:40 p.m., local cyclist called police to complain about a postal delivery driver that he said nearly hit him on Ocean Avenue.
• At 3:51 p.m., police received a call from a local man in Florida who wanted to report that his building had been struck by a tenant.
• At 6:08 p.m., an Auburndale Road resident called police to report that there were fireworks going off in the area and the dogs were "going crazy."
• At 6:11 p.m., police responded to a Washington Street apartment for a report of a fight between roommates. A woman reportedly told police she got in a heated dispute with her roommate and was frightened because he was punching the door while she was locked in her bedroom.

Sunday, Feb. 19:

• At 12:11 a.m., a local resident called police to report an open window on Pleasant Street.
• At 12:13 a.m., a local resident called police to report a pole knocked down outside of Sacks Antiques. An employee of the Municipal Light Department told police it looked like it was hit by a motor vehicle at a high rate of speed.
• At 7:52 a.m., a Waterside Road resident called police to report that a car had been entered overnight. Nothing was reported stolen.
• At 9:12 a.m., a Norman Street woman called police to report that a woman she knew had just come to her house and broken down her door. Soon after, the woman called police to report that the suspect was calling her husband and leaving voice mails.
• At 9:45 a.m., police received word that two more cars parked on Waterside Road had been broken into overnight.
• At 10:44 a.m., a man entered the police station to report that he believed his ex-girlfriend had scratched his car and damaged his windshield wipers.
• At 1:11 p.m., a woman walking her dog near the intersection of Green Street and Arnold Terrace called police to report that she had just seen a man walk out of his house and throw a glass bottle into the street. The man later agreed to clean up the glass.
• At 3:28 p.m., a Linden Street man called police to report that a woman came to his house and tried to steal his dog out of his yard.
• At 8:37 p.m., a West Shore Drive man called police to report that his car had been broken into overnight.
• At 11:03 p.m., police officers responded to Village Street for several reports of a "large boom or crash." Police later found Alycia Falvey, 20, of Elm St., Apt. 5, Marblehead, in her damaged car in the rear of Village School. She was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct.

Monday, Feb. 20:

• At 12:48 a.m., a bartender at the VFW on West Shore Drive called police to report someone passed out in the stairwell.
