Museum to Host 18th Century Party

The Marblehead Museum will host a fundraiser at the Jeremiah Lee Mansion Thursday night.

The is inviting local residents to take a step back in time at the on Washington Street Thursday night.

The organization's upcoming fundraiser, dubbed A Taste of the 18th Century, will be "a special evening of candlelight, 18th century food, drink and music," according to the organization's Director Pam Peterson.

Proceeds from the event, which is scheduled to run from 6 to 8 p.m., will go toward the conservation and restoration of the mansion's Demi-lune window.

Everything offered to mansion guests Thursday night will be authentic to the period and organizers hope to show off the Lee Mansion "the way Martha and Jeremiah Lee saw it."

In addition to taking in the mansion by candlelight, guests will taste 18th century raspberry shrub, tour the mansion's many rooms and ask questions of the experts who offer regular tours.
