Marblehead Makes Best of Boston

Two local businesses, 5 Corners Kitchen and Roses and Thistle made the cut for Boston Magazine's annual Best of Boston list.

For Barry Edelman, owner and head chef of , the honor of being included in Boston magazine's "Best of Boston" list must be bittersweet, knowing that the restaurant may still be months away from re-opening after a left the business severely smoke damaged.

Bittersweet or not, 5 Corners was chosen as the magazine's "Best Brunch North of the City." Also joining 5 Corners on the list is , a local florist that was selected "Best Florist North of the City." The list was released in the magazine's July 26th edition.

5 Corners Kitchen is the unique creation of chef and owner Barry Edelman. From brunch to dinner, this restaurant serves up French-inspired meals that are simple, fresh, seasonal, and made with local ingredients. The drink menu is just as satisfying as the food, backed by a full bar to give a balanced finish to any meal.

5 Corners Kitchen is named after the busy intersection in which it sits. Reservations are suggested to combat the crowds, and can be made online through Urban Spoon or by calling the provided number.

Roses and Thistle

Roses and Thistle is a unique, floral boutique that specializes in custom creations. Some of owner, Tracey Scott's, creations have been featured prominently in area magazines, such as the front cover of Marblehead Magazine's Christmas issue. With many years in the business, and seven of those years spent working at the esteemed Winston Flowers of Boston, it comes as no surprise. When asked why she chose this field, Scott answered, "I've always gardened, and I've always been involved with the arts in one way or another, so it only made sense."

Roses and Thistle will travel for weddings, parties and other events. The shop is also well-known for it's incredible orchids.
