Collecting 'Snowflakes for Sandy Hook'

A local family with Newtown ties is helping organize Snowflakes for Sandy Hook.

The following request was sent in by Marblehead resident Cindy Schieffer:

As you may know, Sandy Hook students are starting in a new school sometime after the 1st of the year.

The school, located in nearby Monroe school, is in need of some sprucing up.

Accordingly, the PTA of Connecticut is organizing a wonderful drive for paper snowflakes to decorate the school so the children arrive to a "Winter Wonderland" when they get back. This link has additional details.

As past residents of lovely Newtown (and as parents), we are (like many of you, I'm sure) anxious for something we can do to help.  So, I'm spreading the word and collecting snowflakes to be sent from Marblehead area children in one large package.

Starting later today there will be a box on our doorstep (273 West Shore Drive) to collect flakes. In inclement weather, please use our mailslot.

Thank you so much for any support.

Gratefully,
