Bubier Road Home Comes Down (VIDEO)

The long-fought battle to save a home on Bubier Road ended this morning.

A home on Bubier Road that was the subject of a long-running local debate was demolished today.

In December, Wayne Johnson told Judge Keith Long that he was giving up the fight to save his 74 Bubier Road home, according to this story published in the Salem News.

Johnson built the home in 1996. In December, he was ordered to tear it down or face jail time. The order came after neighbors complained that the house blocked their view of the harbor.

That's the worst job of backhoeing I've ever seen. He's just pushing the pile around.

While the remedy seems pretty harsh for the violation, the landowner's series of mistakes allowed to court to order his dream home demolished. As a land use and real estate attorney, I discussed the legal hook that allowed this to happen: http://www.bostoncondolawyer.com/2012/02/21/marblehead-home-demolished-court-orde/
