Magicians Football: A Look Back and Ahead

Marblehead Coach James Rudloff's thoughts earlier in the week as he looked ahead to Saturday's game against Beverly at Hurd Stadium:

"We need to have a very good week of practice to get ready for Beverly.  They are the defending D3 superbowl Champions, with returning players and a staff that has won 2 superbowls in the last 3 years.  They have had some injuries and lost a couple of close games, however, now at full strength they will be the most athletic and talented team we have faced this year.  They have 3 running backs who all have break away speed and can turn any play into a big gain.  They run a very sophisticated style of the wing-T offense and will look to run the ball inside us and throw deep and to our perimeter.  We need to play very disciplined to be able to contain their offense.  Defensively they will give us at least 3 different fronts and coverages which we will have to contend with.  They are very good at timing their stunts and our line has to be able protect and open holes against a very quick Beverly front 7."
