Marblehead isn't a town known for its rush-hour traffic jams or for having too many traffic lights - so we want to know, if you could install a traffic light anywhere in town, where would it be? The interactive map above highlights some of the local intersections that already have traffic lights. This week we want to know what restaurant you think is missing from Marblehead.
Marblehead is a community that prides itself on offering visitors a host of options when it comes to sitting down to eat. The design plans for the new Warwick Building on Pleasant Street call for at least one restaurant in the 38,000-square-foot building. This got us to thinking - what kind of restaurant do you think Marblehead is sorely missing? Is there a food you have to leave town to find? Every week, Marblehead Patch asks our readers to participate in a poll question. Last week, we asked you to tell us which traffic violation you see the most of on local roadways. Which traffic violation do you see the most of while driving in Marblehead?
Last month, the Marblehead Police Department kicked off Operation Crosswalk and Operation Red Light - a pair of initiatives aimed at curbing traffic violations at a number of problematic intersections in town. According to recent police log entries, local officers have been stationed at some of Marblehead's most dangerous intersections and have been ticketing motorists for infractions that include speeding, running red lights, crosswalk violations and failure to stop for stop signs. Now, we want to hear from you. Which of these infractions do you see the most of while driving around Marblehead? Two crosswalk areas. One by the crosswalk on Pleasant Street by Allie's pole and another by the crosswalk on West Shore Drive by Tower School. And if more people chose to walk we wouldn't have as much fuel wasted and pollution created. more ›
