Restored Water Service Expected on The Neck
Water and Sewer Department crews spent Friday chasing down and repairing a break in a 10-inch cast-iron main.
Water service was expected to be restored to 11 homes on The Neck by Saturday morning after a water line broke early Friday. The homes are by Harbor Avenue and Foster Street. As of 6:15 p.m. Friday, Marblehead Water and Sewer Department workers had found the break in a 10-inch cast-iron water main, cut out the broken section and replaced it, said Water and Sewer Superintendent Amy McHugh. The crew was charging the line, and testing for water leaks. The superintendent said workers would remain at the work site until service was restored, which she expected soon.
