What Should Go Here?: Atlantic Avenue

What would you like to see move in to the new building coming to Atlantic Avenue?

It looks like two brand new commercial spaces are going to be available in a 2,000-square-foot building coming to Atlantic Avenue sometime next year. The building will be built on the property that currently houses the former Fruit of the Four Seasons building, which is expected to be torn down by the end of the year to make way for a new one-story commercial space. So, as part of our Visions for Vacancies column, we have to ask - what kind of businesses would you like to see move in when the new building opens? The new building will have two separate storefronts facing Atlantic Avenue and the latest plans call for the creation of several new parking spaces along Barnard Street. Local real estate agent Gerald Kaplan is looking to rent out the space, located near the State Street landing. What Should Go Here?: Warwick Place

What would you like to see move in?

As each day passes, Marblehead's new 38,000-square-foot office and retail building on Pleasant Street takes another step toward completion. Warwick Place has been designed to include space for a restaurant and the Warwick Theater Community Foundation is trying to raise the $1 million needed to open a theater in the building. As part of our new Visions for Vacancies column, we want to know - what kind of business would you like to see move in? Have you been hoping for a certain kind of business to come to town? What Should Go Here?

This week we want to know - what would you like to see move in at the former home of The Fruit of the Four Seasons?

Now that the sale pending sign has been taken off of the former home of the Fruit of the Four Seasons, we have to ask - what would you like to see move in? According to Coldwell Banker agent Chesley Perkins, the building was sold to an investing group earlier this month. The group, he said, is planning a complete overhaul of the building's interior. "They're going to be rehabbing everything on the inside," Perkins said. "The plan is to redesign the inside of the building to make it more upscale." Cargo Unlimited, formerly located at 118 Washington St., has closed its doors and moved to Machester by the Sea.
