Marblehead High School golfers downed their Big Blue opponents 38 1/2-33 1/2 Tuesday under gray skies at Tedesco Country Club. It was a close one. Marblehead High School's golf team looked ready to go Thursday afternoon as they teed up for their first practice of the season at the Dilisio Brothers Golf Range in Salem. The varsity team will be under the supervision of coach Jim Keating, who is returning for his fifth year of leading the club; his wife Sheila is in charge of the school's junior varsity team. Marblehead finished with a 9-3 record in 2010 and coach Keating said he is excited about the potential his 2011 squad possesses. “We’re especially strong at the top with Pete (Cormier) and Andrew (Scholnick)," Keating said. “If we get consistent play in the middle and the back end, we’ll do just fine.” Keating said he was particularly pleased to see so many students opting to try …
