Marblehead Girls Lacrosse Advances to the Quarter Finals
The Marblehead girls lax has earned their fifth straight Northeastern Conference Large Division championship.
The game was delayed an hour due to thunder and lightning, but for the Marblehead girls lacrosse team it was well worth the wait. The 6th seeded Headers (15-6) came away with a 10-9 victory over 11th seeded Arlington Catholic (15-4) in a Division 2 North first round game at Piper Field June 1. The Arlington Cougars scored the first goal of the game but the Marblehead Magicians scored the last in a back and forth nail biter. Junior Courtney Maag scored the game winning goal with only 41 seconds left on the clock, ensuring her teammates a trip to the quarter finals.
