Haley's Wines & Market Cafe Now Serving Dinner

Haley's Market Cafe is adding dinner to the menu on Thursday and Friday nights.

Haley’s Wines & Market Cafe is now serving dinner on Thursday and Friday evenings. Haley's co-owner Julie Vinette recently announced that her husband and head chef Paul Baker will be serving up appetizers, meals and desserts in the newly renovated space at 112 Washington St. Featured menu items: steak and hand-cut fries, English-style battered fish and chips, Turkish-inspired pressed chicken with zatar spice and a char-grilled burger. License Awarded to Haley's Market Cafe

The future co-owner of Haley's Market Cafe was awarded a common victualler's license Wednesday night.

The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved awarding a common victualler's license to Haley's Wine & Spirits co-owner Julie Vinette at Abbot Hall Wednesday night, paving the way for a new cafe in downtown Marblehead. Vinette told board members she plans on reopening the space formerly occupied by The Rockhopper Cafe on Washington Street under a new name - Haley's Market Cafe. "We're going to be doing a little bit more complicated food," Vinette said Wednesday night. "We'll certainly be doing breakfast, lunch and a dinner a couple of nights a week." Haley's Market Cafe Will Have Wi-Fi, Fancy Lights [VIDEO]

Lights that change colors with the swipe of an iPhone are among the new features at Haley's Market Cafe on Washington Street.

Haley's Wine and Spirits co-owner Julie Vinette will attend Wednesday night's Board of Selectmen's meeting at Abbot Hall in the hopes of obtaining a common victualler's license for Haley's Market Cafe. Along with her husband and Haley's co-owner Paul Baker, Vinette will soon reopen the space formerly occupied by The Rockhopper Cafe on Washington Street. The pair originally ran Foodie's Feast in the same location before it was sold and reopened as The Rockhopper. Although the remodeling of the interior of the cafe was still very much a work in progress Monday afternoon, Vinette and Baker were quick to show of the eatery's new state-of-the-art lights, which change colors and can be controlled with an iPhone. I was once taught years ago that the fastest way to ruin a company is with great marketing (exposure) for a bad products (this vid). You'd be better off with out the video, at least till it is up and running. Sound is hardly there and the video shows a few lights of minor impact.   more ›

New Cafe Opening Soon in Downtown Marblehead

Haley's Market Cafe will be opening soon in the space formerly occupied by The Rockhopper Cafe and Foodie's Feast.

Work is underway inside the space formerly occupied by The Rockhopper Cafe, which is expected to reopen sometime in the next few months as Haley's Market Cafe. The new downtown eatery will be opened by Haley's Wine and Spirits owners Julie Vinette and Paul Baker, who originally ran Foodie's Feast in the same space before it was sold and reopened as The Rockhopper. Vinette said Monday morning that she is excited to be reopening a cafe on Washington Street and was pleased to report that Baker would be returning to his duties as head chef. No word yet on whether customers can expect any big changes to the menu. Haley's Market Cafe is expected to open for business sometime before the end of the year, Vinette said.
