Big Day for Haley's: New Cafe Opens Doors

The owners of Haley's Market Cafe say they will be officially opening Saturday morning.

"It's official," say the owners of Haley's Market Cafe -- they're opening the doors Saturday at 7 a.m. The new cafe on Washington Street will be open from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday through Monday and closed Tuesday, before re-opening Wednesday at 7 a.m. "Visit us this week! How we've missed you!" reads a brief update posted on Facebook from Julie Vinette and husband Paul Baker. The couple owns the package store next door and, in fact, used to run Foodie's Feast where the new cafe is until they closed up shop in 2011 and the Rockhopper Cafe moved in. The Rockhopper then closed last fall. Vinette told Marblehead Patch they were just awaiting the final health inspection on Friday, and pending approval, would be all set to open Saturday.

Haley's Market Cafe is on track to open next week, says co-owner Paul Baker. Haley's Cafe takes over the space formerly occupied by The Rockhopper Cafe, which closed back in October. Vinette has said Haley's will be regularly offering breakfast and lunch along with dinner a couple nights a week. The couple used to run Foodies Feast in the same …

SNEAK PEEK: Haley's Market Cafe

Work is in full swing inside Haley's Market Cafe, which is expected to open next month.

The space formerly occupied by The Rockhopper Cafe will reopen in mid-January as Haley's Market Cafe and work inside is in full swing. The new downtown eatery will be opened by Haley's Wine and Spirits owners Julie Vinette and Paul Baker, who originally ran Foodie's Feast in the same space before it was sold and reopened as The Rockhopper. Remodeling the cafe space was Paul Haggett of Paul Haggett and Co. and his crew. What do you think about another cafe opening in the former Foodie's space? Anything you'd like to see on the menu?  Let us know in the comments section below.
