North Shore Food Buzz: Comella's Opens Soon, Kings Bowling Coming to North Shore

When you're looking for a night out and a break from cooking, you might want to know what's new not only where you live, but also in other North Shore communities. Here's our round up of the area's latest food news: Italian food for a reasonable price in a family atmosphere might not be the most original restaurant idea — but it's working for the small Massachusetts chain Comella's. Their newest outpost is supposed to open any day on Atlantic Avenue. I can't think of bowling without it putting me in mind of my favorite movie, The Big Lebowski. Now we learn that the Kings coming to MarketStreet Lynnfield has been approved for an all-alcohol license. Which means you can order a Caucasian and toast The Dude at their bar when it opens in …

Work Begins on Atlantic Ave at Future Comella's

First signs that work has begun this week on the interior of 50 Atlantic Ave., which will be the future home of Comella's.

There were signs of life inside the former Moran Studios space on Atlantic Avenue Tuesday morning where a new Italian eatery is slated to open up later this year. The vacant commercial storefront will be the future home of Comella's, a family-owned chain of Italian restaurants and the fourth Italian spot in Marblehead's downtown. The small eatery is expected to seat 12, but generate most of its business from meals-to-go. The owners said back in October they expected to be open within six months. The Zoning Board of Appeals granted approvals for the new business this past fall, changing the allowed use of the building back to a restaurant from retail.
