Just bad. Real bad.
Jack-Tar Restaurant
781-631-2323
Every night at 5pm, the Jack-Tar American Tavern opens its doors and begins serving honest food and drink in a classic American tavern setting. Owners, Scott Brankman and Emily Farnsworth-Brankman, can usually be found on the premises, warmly greeting customers and preparing the evening's dishes.
The restaurant's menu is packed with a wide array of mouth-watering choices, each a small adventure in itself. From tasty tapas and super salads, to hearty tavern fare and exotic brick oven pizzas, it becomes increasingly clear that some very serious thought went into the selections.
For those on a budget, this restaurant offers $5 pizzas every day from 5pm to 7pm. On Sundays, kids eat free with the purchase of one adult meal per child (dine-in only).

Without a doubt one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great Black Bean burgers, and the Ahi tuna pokes are also delicious. Can never go wrong with the brick oven pizzas also. Friendly & efficient staff!
I think one of my favorite things about this place other than the food is always amazing! Is that even if they are full and on a wait you will always see their staff laughing smiling and joking with each other. They truley do all love working together and love working at Jack Tar.
I love going to Jack Tar and I hope you go and check them out. It is the best veggie burger you are going to get in town.
You've got to try the menue on both lunch and dinner. Great food, good price and great place to order take out from also on these cold nights. Join their Admiral's Club card club to enjoy extra benefits! Yum...
One of the benefits of developing the directory listings for Patch was that I got to meet a lot of wonderful business owners and learn something uplifting and unique about each of their businesses. Well, one of the ones that really stood out to me was Jack Tar. Since then, I've been back about a half dozen times and have shared the pleasure with 3 different people -- with more coming on future visits.
I grew up eating at a lot of very fine restaurants and can't say enough about this place. Aside from some of the best scallops (wrapped in bacon), cod (a generous thick filet) and brick oven pizza I've ever had, Jack Tar somehow manages to be both regal *and* relaxed at the same time; and, at prices for every budget.
You could say it's my "new, favorite place." ;)

Never been disappointed. Good craft beer selection and delicious steak tips. Their pizzas are also delicious.
