Boston Yacht Club
The Boston Yacht Club was founded in 1866. Standing tall and proud, it was formed "in the spirit of comradeship, courtesy, chivalry and sympathetic joy in a common sport." It began with a modest 90 members and has since grown to more than 500 members, 400 boats and adding private hotel accommodations for those wishing to stay a night or longer.
The Boston Yacht Club has a rich history including numerous successful defenses of the America's Cup. It also places a heavy emphasis on charitable involvement from fundraising for needy children and hospice care facilities to hosting sailing competitions for the physically handicapped.
