Your Guide: Bring on the Song — HamJam 2013

HamJam plays from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday at Crocker Park.

Area musicians will kick up the bass and keep the tunes rolling Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. at Crocker Park in Marblehead when band after band performs at HamJam.

Marblehead Recreation Supervisor Jim Sullivan said the celebration of the arts was a hit last year and promises to be a hit on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The art/performance happening has a lot to recommend it.

One, it gives young musicians a stage: a place for friends, family and music lovers to see and hear them practice their craft and hone their performance skills.

Another plus is the music is homegrown, played by local players and started by Geoff Selden of Marblehead.

And the show is a free concert but a benefit for the Plummer Home in Salem.

Crocker Park is a fine place to spend your day. The 2.8-acre park off Front Street looks out upon Marblehead Harbor. For directions click here.
