Marblehead Weekend Agenda: Music, Drama — Even Parading Dogs

Drama:

  • The Repertory Experience Players, part of Marblehead Little Theatre's Youth Theatre Program, is a group of young actors and actresses from Marblehead and surrounding communities. This weekend they perform "Song of America," composed by Mac Huff. Food:

  • On Saturday from 9 to noon at the Marblehead Veterans Middle School 217 Pleasant Street — enter from Vine Street — is the Marblehead Farmers' Market.
Movies on the Lawn:
  • On Friday, 8 p.m., Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA Field  Free FamilyCome with the whole family, bring your blankets and chairs and sit back and enjoy "The Goonies" projected onto a giant inflatable movie screen, along with some freshly popped popcorn!
Dogs on Parade:

  • Dress your dog in a “Nautical and Seaside Fun” Theme at Fort Sewall in Marblehead, and show him/her off!(Possible costume ideas: Sailing, Pirates, Surfing, Swimming, Fishing, Ocean Creatures, Water Sports, Clam Bakes, Cookouts, etc.) and welcome special guest and Grand Marshall Ray Charles the Blind Golden Retriever! Registration begins at 1:30pm, and the Parade will begin at 2 pm.  A $5 Donation per entrant is requested and will be donated to the Friends of Marblehead’s Abandoned Animals at the conclusion of the event.
Sailing:

  • Corinthian Classic Yacht Regatta Saturday,  9 AM  Marblehead Harbor 


Art:

  • On Saturday at the Abbot Public Library "Pecheur de lune":Photographs by Natalie Borden Saturday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Aug. 31 Public Reception: Saturday, Aug. 3, 3 pm - 5 pm.
All weekend the Marblehead Maritime Festival will feature ocean-inspired events.
