Monday Essentials: Film Presentation, E-Cigarettes and Water & Sewer

Meetings and events in the coming week in Marblehead.

The coming week includes a presentation on Boston’s unique role in the development of the movie business, and a meeting of the Site Based Team for Malcolm Bell School. For a complete list of meetings see the town website.

Monday
The Site Based Team for Malcolm Bell School meets at 4 p.m. in the library at 42 Baldwin Road. Agenda items include reorganization, new members Elizabeth Rudzinski, Jeff St. George, Amy Gold and Michelle Grimes and ethics information.


Tuesday

The Board of Health meets at 7:30 p.m. in the lower conference room at the Mary Alley Municipal Building at 7 Widger Road. Agenda items include a review of E-cigarettes regulatons.

The Water and Sewer Commssion meets at 7:30 p.m. in the Commission Office t 100 Tower Way, Building 11. Agenda items include superintendent updates and decommissioning of the Redd's Pond inlet chamber.

When Everyone Went to the Movies!" Presentation by Arthur Singer Celebrate 120 years of Movie Going with the Author of Boston’s Downtown Movie Palaces Tuesday, October 1st, 7:00 pm
Memorable pictures, stories and film clips, Singer’s presentation – entitled, “When Everyone Went to the Movies!” – will cover Boston’s unique role in the development of the movie business, from the earliest showings of moving images to the one-reel nickelodeons of the early 1900s, to the road shows of the 1960s, and the evolution of movie “palaces,” from the mighty Metropolitan to the art deco Paramount. Singer also will discuss the extension of movie theaters beyond the city to outlying communities, including Marblehead’s Warwick Theater. 

Thursday
Marblehead High School will host a guidance meeting at 7 p.m. for parents of seniors.

Saturday

The Magic of Lines": Mixed Media Paintings by Grigor Grigoryants

Public Reception: Saturday, October 5th, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Graphic and fine artist Grigor Grigoryants has developed a unique mixed-medium drawing technique which includes, but is not limited to, India ink, feather, and water color on paper. His creative style is a distinctive accumulation of graphic imagery interwoven by a thread of fantastic connections.
