Is John Tierney the most partisan member of the MA delegation?

It sure is starting to look that way.

In March he was one of 84 hyper-partisan Democrats who voted for five new tax brackets for Massachusetts businesses (45%, 46%, 47%, 48%, and 49%). Read more about the Grijalva budget here.

Then last night he showed that he would rather shut down the government than join a bipartisan majority voting to repeal the medical device tax. This would be the same medical device tax that Elizabeth Warren has repeatedly opposed and voted to repeal on the grounds that it is hurting Massachusetts businesses and innovation. Read Warren’s op-ed on the issue here.

But should we really be surprised? At the end of the day, John Tierney is going to go to bat for Nancy Pelosi, not Massachusetts small businesses and seniors that will be hurt by the medical device tax.

The problem with John Tierney isn’t just that he is dishonest, unethical, and has questionable morals. It’s also that Tierney is one of the most partisan members of Congress and doesn’t have a bipartisan bone in his body. His vote for a government shutdown and against repealing the medical device tax shows that Tierney is more concerned with following Nancy Pelosi’s job killing agenda than he is in supporting innovation and economic growth in Massachusetts.
