Howie Doliber III, who passed away last year, was recently recognized for his positive impact on Marblehead youth hockey.

The Marblehead Friends of Hockey Monday night enshrined Howie Doliber III in the Marblehead Friends' Hall of Fame, according to an article in the Salem News.

Doliber was a leader in Marblehead youth hockey on all levels for many years and known for his ability to make things happen.

"Howie encouraged people of influence to get involved, show support and raise funds. He was a true leader in that regard," said Marblehead Friends of Hockey vice president Dana Tufts. "We miss him dearly. His selection to the Hall of Fame is a great way to honor him and all he did for Marblehead hockey.”

Doliber passed away on April 4, 2012, after a long bout with cancer.
