The Landing's Chowder Takes The Cup at Chowderfest

The Landing Restaurant's chowder recently took the cup in a town synonymous with clams — Ipswich.

The Landing Restaurant's chowder recently took the cup in a town synonymous with clams — Ipswich.

The Landing chowder won the judge's first-place award at the Ipswich Chowderfest.

Last month some 10 restaurants ladled out a few hundred gallons of the New England staple.

In the accompanying photos, see Brenna, who served the chowder.

She's holding two trophies.

One is for the judge's first place award, and, the other, for a second place finish in the people's choice category.

"We have been told we have 'the best chowder around' and now we are out to prove it," said Robert Simonelli, the restaurant's general manager and managing partner.

The Landing will be having a presentation at The Landing by the Lions Club in the next week or two.

We invite The Landing or Lions Club or any other local business with news to post it directly to the Patch website, by posting it here in our Patch Boards business updates.

It'll get your business news on the homepage and if it is newsy enough and the space is there we will give it additional coverage by making it a regular news story.

We have a couple questions about The Landing and its chowder.

How long has The Landing been in business and how would you describe your chowder? Is it a family recipe?
