The dictionary defines massage "as the manipulation of tissues (as by rubbing, kneading, or tapping) with the hand or an instrument for therapeutic purposes".

I'm sure most of you know that. But did you know massage has numerous beneficial effects such as:

-promotes relaxation physically and psychologically
-relieves pain, stiffness, and tenderness usually caused by strain
-regular massage lowers blood pressure and heart rate
-improves body's metabolism
- aids in the removal of metabolic waste products by stimulating the lymphatic system
-consistently lowers cortisol levels
-improves circulation thus increases the nutrients brought to the muscles
-some studies have shown that people who receive massage have greater immune system functioning and reported less depression, anxiety, and fatigue
-... and many more...
In a nut shell, massage improves your over all well-being.

We could all use this in our busy worlds of running from A to B, taking care of everyone and everything but ourselves. Do you take any "me" time? What's a better way than massage to have beneficial "me" time- it's not just about pampering and relaxation, although those are wonderful things, it's also about creating a healthier, happier, you!!
