Sample Specialties From 24 Restaurants and Shops Sunday

Establishments including some from Marblehead will be serving specialities Sunday, Oct 13, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the Swampscott High School cafeteria.

Sunday's Taste of Swampscott in the high school cafeteria from 1 to 3:30 p.m. is the grand finale for the Class of 2014, their third and final year of bringing in restaurants to serve specialties.

Twenty-four establishments will be serving the guests, with a student helper assigned to each station. Other students will be selling drinks and tickets.

A highlight of the event is the silent auction with only 100 tickets sold — $25 each — for a chance to win a 60-inch Vizio Smart TV and a PlayStation 4.

Over the past three years the student organizers have refined their preparation, from publicizing the event to ordering items, aiming to give the roaming diners a pleasant and fulfilling experience.

The class hopes to raise about $15,000.

The money, along with the money earned from earlier events and those planned later in the year, will help defray graduation expenses, from caps and gowns to prom tickets to yearbooks.

Here is a list of restaurants and shops that wil be at the Taste of Swampscott.
