Former Tower Student Seeking Help For Friend and Classmate

Ashley Boyle's 3-year-old daughter, Finley, went into cardiac arrest on a visit to the dentist.

Ashley and Taryn were friends and classmates at the Tower School in Marblehead from 2nd grade through 9th grade in 1999.

Later, their young daughters, Finley and Ava, became each others first little friend.

Today, Taryn Berk of Salem is seeking prayers for her friend Ashley Boyle's 3-year-old daughter, Finley.

On Dec. 3, Ashley brought Finley to a dentist in Hawaii for a pediatric root canal. After being given sedatives, Finley went into cardiac arrest, Taryn said.

Finley went without oxygen for five minutes, Taryn said. She was taken to the hospital and remains in the ICU, having suffered brain damage, Taryn said.

Family and friends are sending love and supporting via a Facebook page called Pray for Finley.

Friends have also set up a fund to help pay for Finley's medical expenses.

Taryn said that Ashley and her husband, a Navy pilot, have been in Hawaii the past three years.

Taryn and Ashley and their daughters spent time together when Ashley came home to Salem during her husband's deployments.

The moms renewed their friendship and the little girls became fast friends taking classes together at the YMCA.

Last summer was the last time Taryn saw Finley, a sweet and funny little girl, Taryn said.

"This little girl is truly so special and deserves all the love and support we can draw together," Taryn said.
