Water Break on The Neck

A town crew is working at the scene on Friday morning.

 

Water and Sewer Department crews are working at the scene of a 12-inch water main break on The Neck Friday morning.

The break was reported about 4:30 a.m., Friday, by Harbor Avenue and Foster Street where water is seeping through the pavement, said department Assistant Superintendent Brad Perron.

An undetermined number of homes are or will be affected by the break, he said.

The department advises residents in the vicinity of the break to not use hot water until the break is repaired.

If you have rusty or dirty water run cold water until it clears, he said.

The department will have an estimate on when water will be restored once they determine the extent of the problem, the assistant superintendent said.
