Seth Moulton, Son of Marblehead, Announces Run for U.S. Congress

On Monday, in a video message to supporters, Iraq War veteran and Salem Democrat, Seth Moulton, announced that he will run for U.S. Congress in Massachusetts' Sixth Congressional District. 

Moulton will formally kick-off the campaign Tuesday greeting commuters at the Lynn train station. He will visit all 39 cities and towns across the district in his first ten days on the campaign trail.

"I believe that our party can do better -- to charge forward with optimism, courage and ambition," Moulton said in the video. "To have big ideas, but also know how to bring people together and get things done. That's why I am doing what I believe is right, I am volunteering to serve again. To take the fight for you to the House of Representatives - to put working people first."

Born in Salem and raised in Marblehead, Moulton is a native of the North Shore. After graduating from Harvard, Moulton enlisted in the U.S. Marines where he was deployed four times to Iraq, including twice to work alongside then-General David Petraeus.

Today he lives in Salem where he is the co-founder and president of Eastern Healthcare Partners, a healthcare company aimed at addressing the growing financial and health burden of non-communicable diseases such as obesity and diabetes.
