Second Lead Mills Meeting, Workshop in Marblehead June 3

The Town of Marblehead has retained a team of students from the Conways School of Landscape Architecture to develop design alternatives for the Lead Mills property, located at the Salem-Marblehead line at 485 Lafayette Street. 

The town will be holding a second public meeting/workshop on Tuesday, June 3 at 7 p.m. in the lower-level of the Abbot Public Library on Pleasant Street.  

This initiative is intended to develop ideas for a functional design of this newly acquired piece of open space that is jointly owned with the city of Salem.

The Conway School’s student team has met with key stake holders and is conducting a site analysis and working on preliminary alternatives. The workshop on May 15th will include a project overview and a summary of the site analysis.  This workshop is meant to be interactive in order to gather guidance and comments from citizens, stakeholders and various boards and committees. Public input at this stage of the project is valuable to ensure a useful outcome.

We are inviting interested officials and citizens from both Salem and Marblehead to attend.
