School Committee, Liquor License and Abbot Hall Before Selectmen

The board meets at 7:30 Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Abbot Hall.

Selectmen are slated on Wednesday to hear how the School Committee will fill its vacancy.

Other agenda items include the status of the liquor license at Joey D's Italian Grill and the appointment of members to a committee that will oversee work to Abbot Hall.

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at Abbot Hall.

School Committee Chairman Kathleen Leonardson will announce the format for filling the School Committee vacancy created with the resignation of Richard Nohelty.

Selectmen are no strangers to filling these positions.
Just last month they and School Committee members selected William Ackerman to fill the committee seat that had been occupied by EuRim Chun.

The four other candidates for the open seat were Rossana Ferrante Francis; Elizabeth Moore, a retired Marblehead principal; Scott H. Solberg; and Alexa Squitieri.

Also Wednesday, Selectmen will review the status of the liquor license at the former Joey D's Italian Grill. Joey D's closed in June but the license remains associated with the property and could be transferred to a future owner.

Selectman Judy Jacobi said selectmen are expected to appoint members to the Abbot Hall Oversight Committee.

Jacobi, chair of the Old Town House Oversight Committee, said the committee makes the project is done properly with transparency.

The members help includes overseeing the project's schedule and the quality of the work.

Another agenda item includes a public hearing on temporary construction takings in connection with the closure of the former landfill.
