Paving to Close Rockaway Ave. All Day Thursday
A road connecting Atlantic Avenue and Humphrey Street is closed for paving on Thursday.
Rockaway Avenue is closed on Thursday for road paving.
In a message from Director of Public Works David Donahue, he said Aggregate Industries will be resurfacing Rockaway Avenue between Atlantic Avenue and Humphrey Street.
Rockaway Avenue is one of the few roads connecting Atlantic Avenue and Humphrey Street between Ocean Avenue and the Swampscott town line. The DPW suggests drivers instead use Clifton or Seaview avenues as an alternative.

Parking will not be banned on the street between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Work began at 7 a.m. and will be done “as soon as possible.”

The work will also disrupt traffic patterns and the DPW recommends drivers avoid the area, if possible.
