New Water Break Line Detected
MWRA says break has caused no service interruption at this time.
The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority has a new water leak in a shaft in Weston, only 220 feet from the break last May that caused Marblehead residents to limit their water usage and boil their drinking water.
The MWRA's web site said the break is in its shaft 5 in Weston.
"At this time, there are no service interruptions; however, back-up water systems are being readied. MWRA staff are at the site developing an inspection and repair plan. The MWRA EOC (emergency operations center) has been opened."

In the previous break, the Marblehead Health Department instructed residents to boil water for at least two minutes before drinking it. Outdoor water use and indoor non-essential water used was banned.
