National Grid Helicopters To Fly Over North Shore Wednesday

The helicopters will be flying over neighboring cities Wednesday.

National Grid helicopters will be hovering over the North Shore Wednesday, inspecting power lines.

Helicopters may be spotted in the area of Salem, Lynn, Saugus, Topsfield, Boxford, Gloucester, Melrose and Malden throughout the day, according to National Grid's press office.

The helicopters make spotting trouble spots easier as many of the lines are in remote areas. The goal is to spot and fix troubled lines before power is cut to those cities and towns National Grid services.
