Board of Health Picks Next Director

The Board of Health made their pick for Marblehead's new Health Director Monday night.

The Board of Health held a series of public interviews Monday night with three preferred candidates hoping to take over the Health Department when longtime Health Director Wayne Attridge retires in January.

Attridge plans to retire Jan. 3, after 34 years spent serving as a town employee, 27 as the head of the health department.

At the end of the three interviews, Board members selected Andrew Petty, 36, of Brewster, who has spent the last six years serving as the Assistant Health and Conservation Agent for the town of Wellfleet, to take over for Attridge.
