Christmas Tree and Trash/Recycling Pick-up Schedule

Collection will continue through Jan. 17.

The town will pick-up Christmas trees from Thursday, Dec. 26 through Jan. 17, officials announced earlier this month.

The trees should be placed curbside outside residences.

The trees must be free of ornaments and lights. In addition, they must not be in plastic bags.

No wreaths will be collected.

Wednesday's trash and recycling will be collected Thursday, Dec. 26

Thursday's trash and recycling will be collected Friday, Dec. 27

Friday's trash and recycling will be collected Saturday, Dec. 28

It is a shame that Marblehead has discontinuted the tree burning at Riverhead beach. This was a great tradition. Please call the Board of Health which said it cost too much to clean up and the Selectmen who believed this and ask them to reinstate this great tradition. Even better lets have Patch do a story about why this tradition was abandoned.
