Trial Begins for Local Man Accused of Killing Pregnant Girlfriend

The trial of a Marblehead man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend began this morning in Salem Superior Court.

The trial of a local man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend in 2009 began Tuesday morning in Salem Superior Court.

The trial of Peter Ronchi, charged with two counts of first-degree murder, is currently underway in Salem, acording to the Boston Globe.

Ronchi is accused of stabbing Yuliya Galperina, 42, in May 2009 when she told him the baby was not his. He reportedly fled to Connecticut before turning himself over to police, according to The Globe.
