Tracking the Truck: Fire Apparatus Reaches Foxboro

The Marblehead Fire Department's new quint ladder truck has arrived in Massachusetts.

Marblehead Fire Chief Jason Gilliland expects the department's new $1.2 million quint ladder truck will arrive at the station sometime next month.

While we wait to see it up close, here's some proof that the fire apparatus successfully made the journey from the Pierce Manufacturing Plant in Appleton, Wisc., to Foxboro.

A big thank you to Gilliland for sending along the photograph above, which was taken in the parking lot outside of Gillette Stadium.

Marblehead Patch will be posting updates as information becomes available.

Sometime next month? Holy Cow! If it takes that long to get here from Foxboro, how long does it take to get to a fire!

Well, next month starts on Monday. It seems that many of these very expensive fire trucks make a stop for a few days at the regional dealer that sold the truck, before being delivered to the fire department. In some cases, there are a number of "finishing touches" to be added, such as radio equipment and the like.
