Scammer Impersonating Officer Seeks $3,000 in Drugstore Vouchers

Tuesday, Dec. 3

1:45 p.m., a walk-in to the police station, from Jersey Street, said a man who identified himself as a Marblehead police officer told her that her son was arrested for having alcohol in a car and she needed to buy $3,000 worth of vouchers from Walgreens to help get him out of trouble.

1:58 p.m., a distressed man on Front Street was transported to the hospital.

4:09 p.m., police received a report of a man falling down in the road on Pleasant Street. The man said he was going home on the bus.

7:55 p.m., a caller reported that her driver had to awaken his fare at his stop at Pleasant Street and Smith Street. No one was found in the area.
