Open Manholes and Blocked Drains

The following information was submitted by the Marblehead Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.


Sunday, Dec. 15

8:06 a.m., a caller reported wires down at a Bowden Street home. They were Comcast's wires.

8:41 a.m., a caller reported a storm drain was blocked by snow on Haley Road. The road was flooding. DPW was to push back the snowbank.

8:57 a.m., a caller reported that Birch Street was flooding. The drain was covered, and the water and sewer department was called.

9:11 a.m., an open manhole was reported on Laurel Street and Lafayette Street.

10:35 a.m., a caller reported a manhole was knocked off by a plow on Warren Road. A sawhorse was placed over the hole. An on-call sewer department employee was notified.

11:17 a.m., an open manhole cover was reported on Brown Street. The cover was put back in place.

12:58 p.m., fistfight reported on Atlantic Avenue.

3:38 p.m., a child fell on an 18-month-old. The baby was transported to the hospital.

6:48 p.m., neighbor reported a problem with a neighbor on Camille Terrace.

8:29 a.m., a caller reported an ongoing dispute between neighbors on High Street. The dispute involves their dogs making noise in the morning.

Monday, Dec. 16

0:30 a.m., a caller reported what sounded like a fight in front of the Riptide. Police spoke with people in front of the establishment. They said the fighters had left.
