Summer is supposed to be a time of fun, sun, cook outs, time with the family, relaxing on those beautiful chairs and chaise lounges we bought and got ready after a long cold winter ---and PEACE!! Dream on Marbleheaders!! Everywhere you go, walk, live in this rightly so called beautiful historic town we have outrageous NOISE! Construction is all over-- from the new drainage digging, digging for "something" at Bank of Boston on Pleasant St., to all of the landscapers blowing away, often at the next door neighbors home and cars driving by---(right after coming from the car wash), to everyone fixing up and renovating their wonderful homes to keep up with "things"! What ever happened to quiet times, relaxing with family, catching up after a long work week, unwinding and just enjoying eachother? I don't know. We are all guilty --- shopping for food, (Market Basket here we come), the Mall for all those "one day sales" loaded with coupons in hand, bumping into eachother looking at our "smart phones", home in just enough time to go out to one of "our restaurant kithens". Really relaxing, huh? Whatever happened to those good days, on Saturdays and Sundays when stores were closed, went to church and Synagogs with the family, came home, Mom made dinner, we read papers, and visited relatives and spent TIME with family and friends. Are we all nuts thinking this is this is the way to live? We can not go back, but perhaps rethink it all and make time for PEACE in this life we have before the winter is back!!
