Man Denies Being in the Buff on the Beach

The following information came from the Marblehead Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Aug. 16,

  • At 9:22 a.m., police received a report that items were stolen from a car on Powder House Court.
  • At 10:21 a.m., a walk-in to the police station reported a missing blue, yellow and tan Vera Bradley wallet. She last saw it in her car at Crosby's Market.
  • At 12:41 p.m., police received a report of a hit-and-run accident at Atlantic Avenue and Seaview Avenue. The suspected motor vehicle was stopped at 32 Humphrey St. in Swampscott by Swampscott police. The victim and police proceeded to the Swampscott station to exchange paperwork. The suspected vehicle was to be cited.
  • At 2:26 p.m., police received a call about a man who allegedly exposed himself at Devereux Beach. Police questioned the man. He said he was never naked. The man was wearing underwear. He said he thought they were shorts.
  • At 5:15 p.m., police received a call about a young person stashing a satchel/knapsack in the woods on Martin Street. Police retrieved the satchel, finding alcohol and marijuana in it. The case is under investigation.
  • At 10:08 p.m., the harbormaster called to report they had found a red Victory Blast kayak and put it in the office for safe keeping in case someone called for it.
Saturday, Aug. 17
  • At 8:57 a.m., a contractor called to report that while digging they broke a water line on Prospect Street.
  • At 11: a.m., a resident called to a report a breaking and entering at a Washington Street apartment.
  • At 12:09 p.m., police and fire units responded to a two-car crash on Lafayette Street. Neither operator complained of injuries.
