Local Man Charged With Stealing Customer's Phone at White Hen

The following information came from the Marblehead Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

  • At 8:21 a.m., police relayed a call reporting that someone was locked in the bathroom and could not get out at Chandler Hovey Park. The park office was notified and will have someone go out there to help immediately.
  • At 8:32 p.m., a wallet was found at Jersey Street and Ramsdell Road. No phone number was available for the person who lost the wallet so police sent the owner a Facebook message.
  • At 10:47 a.m., a caller said she picked up a chardonay bottle thrown from a jeep that drove past her house by Ramsay Road. The Jeep had a group of young people in it and she was concerned about drinking and driving.
  • At 1:56 P.M., a walk-in to the police station reported that her husband lost his phone walking on the tracks towards Swampscott.
  • At 3:07 p.m., it appeared there was an abandoned Ferrari in the road at Lafayette Street and Maple Street. It turned out that the owner was pouring anti-freeze into the car.
  • At 3:338 p.m., two DCF workers requested an officer to help them at a local residence where they were going to remove children and believed the mother would give them a hard time. Police assisted at the residence.
  • At 5:57 p.m., motorists were not following the signs directing them to new traffic pattern on Atlantic Avenue. Four motorists have gone the wrong way.
  • At 6:43 p.m., police, fire and ambulance units responded to a report of a 13-year-old on a West Shore Drive field with a possible concussion.
  • At 6:51 p.m., a motorcyclist went down at Bessom and Pleasant Streets after slipping on material placed on the road following an earlier accident.
  • At 9:35 p.m., a Heritage Way resident reported receiving harassing text messages. The messages were not threats but an officer will follow up by talking to the person who sent the texts.
  • At 11:33 p.m., police received a report from a woman who said a man had been following her in the White Hen store, and he had taken her phone from the counter. Police charged John Page, 191 Pleasant St., Apt. #2, Marblehead, 31, with larceny over $250.
