Local Man Arrested for Assault and Battery

Wednesday, May 16:

  • At 8:26 a.m., a resident entered the with "five syringe tips" found at . The tips were reportedly disposed of in a "sharps container."
  • At 8:40 a.m., police responded to an accidental 911 call from a home on Clifton Heights Lane.
  • At 10:54 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on a woman who has been making suicidal comments. The woman was later transported by ambulance to Beverly Hospital.
  • At 11:30 a.m., a local resident entered the police station to report losing an iPod Nano and a pair of ear buds behind .
  • At 2:01 p.m., the principal at called police to report that a female student had taken off at noon.
  • At 2:13 p.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident on Atlantic Avenue involving a 2012 Ford Fusion and a 2005 Toyota Prius.
  • At 3:17 p.m., police responded to Marblehead High School to take a report from a 16-year-old girl who claimed to have been in an altercation with her mother Monday night.
  • At 4:27 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Front Street.
  • At 5:51 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Washington Street.
  • At 8:36 p.m., police responded to Willard Lane for a report of a domestic disturbance. David Wise, 22, of 9 Willard Lane, was arrested on two counts of assault and battery.
  • At 10:51 p.m., a motorist called police to report seeing a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee cross over the yellow lines on Atlantic Avenue "numerous times."
  • At 11:17 p.m., police responded to a report of a "group of kids in cars causing a disturbance" on Ocean Avenue. The group was reportedly gone when police arrived.

  • At 5:41 a.m., police and fire units responded to a report of "thick black smoke" coming from a chimney on Humphrey Street. The fire was later traced to the home's boiler and was quickly extinguished.
  • At 7:13 a.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Franklin Street.
