Jump Start Ignites Car Fire on Endicott

The following information was submitted by the Marblehead Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Dec, 11

8:35 a.m, injuries from a fall were reported on Vine Street. No patient transport was made.

9:20 a.m., a caller reported a person with no hat or coat flagging down cars on Jersey Street. The person was gone upon police's arrival.

12:22 p.m., a minor accident took place at Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street. No injuries were reported. One of the motorists had an expired license. The car was left parked to the side of the road until the person can get her license renewed.

1:05 p.m., police and firefighters responded to a car fire on Endicott Avenue.  The 2005 Chevy Cobalt SE was fully involved with fire. Firefighters knocked down the flames. The vehicle was getting a jump start from another vehicle when it caught fire. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

7:02 p.m., police received a 911 hang-up from a Summer Street residence. They found out on a call back that is was accidental, done by a child.
