Hit-and-Run on Atlantic Avenue

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police Department's log:

Wednesday, Dec. 5:

  • At 7:46 a.m., police responded to a hit-and-run accident on Sapphire Avenue involving a Chevy Silverado and a Dodge Caravan.
  • At 7:56 a.m., police responded to a report of an alarm sounding at the Old Town House.
  • At 8:15 a.m., a motorist was ticketed for running the red light at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Ocean Avenue.
  • At 8:27 a.m., a motorist was ticketed on Pleasant Street for speeding in a school zone.
  • At 8:37 a.m., a motorist was ticketed on Village Street for speeding in a school zone.
  • At 9:25 a.m., a resident entered the police station to report that they received an anonymous threatening letter from a neighbor regarding their dogs barking.
  • At 9:51 a.m., a Beach Street woman called police to report that "there has been an increase in the nails, tacks, beer bottles being thrown at her house." The woman said she thinks a neighbor is responsible.
  • At 10:11 a.m., a motorist was ticketed for running the red light at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Ocean Avenue.
  • At 10:46 a.m., police responded to a hit-and-run on Atlantic Avenue involving a BMW X5.
  • At 12:09 p.m., a resident called police to report finding reading glasses while on a walk near the intersection of Beacon Street and Bradlee Road.
  • At 1:57 p.m., police received word that a motorist was driving 100 mph on Ocean Avenue.
  • At 3:25 p.m., police responded to an accidental 911 call from a home on Cloutman's Lane.
  • At 3:40 p.m., a Rockcliff Road woman called police to report an unwanted party on their property.
  • At 3:42 p.m., police responded to a report of kids bothering people at the intersection of Elm and Green streets.
  • At 7:25 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Cypress Street.
  • At 7:56 p.m., police responded to a report of a disabled motor vehicle on Pleasant Street.
  • At 9:40 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Washington Street.
